According to Xiaomi, MIUI has removed unnecessary distractions from
the UI, which should help the user focus on the area that he needs at a
specific moment. So, if you’re looking to join the growing base of
Xiaomi users and you don’t mind standing accused of owning a smartphone
with a software highly resembling to Apple’s iOS, let’s have a look at
some of the most important changes.
The launcher of the new MIUI v6 version now supports batch
organisation of icons and includes a quick search panel, which is
accessible by a swipe-up gesture. The Calendar, Calculator, Weather,
Compass, Clock and other native apps have been refreshed with a new
flatter design. The notification center has been revamped, as these are
visible on the lock-screen, collapsed by default but expandable with a
small gesture.

With the updated Mi Cloud application, you can now access your photos, contacts, messages, call logs and more from anywhere. There’s 10 GB of free storage and seamless synchronization of all your content on Mi Phone, Mi Pad, Mi TV and more. You can now back up your photos over Wi-Fi. It’s also possible to share your content with your friends and family only.
The new MIUI 6 comes with more power-saving modes in order to adjust
the standby time of your device. Various Linux kernel and RAM
optimization techniques have also been deployed, making apps run more
efficiently. The operating system comes with the right tools to protect
against malicious apps and viruses.
It also comes with built-in permission which prevent unauthorized apps from accessing your data. The Virus Scan helps you check and kill viruses before installing any app. The software also comes with Clean Master cleaner app, which is built-in for freeing up storage, to boost memory, enhance speed, and provide extra security. The Data Usage tool monitors your network traffic and saves data.
The basic contact and dial pad function has been revamped and you can
now identify, mark or block unwanted calls with several detailed
options. Email functionality has been made better, as you can now
combine all mails with the same subject into one folder, and you can see
what’s new in a single shot. Also, the attachment list allows users to
view and save attachments directly.
The Browser feature has been given a slight revampe, as Mi Cloud now allows you to sync bookmarks MIUI Browser. You can continue browsing on your Mi Pad from where you left off on your Mi Phone. Also, in the above screenshots you can see how the new Gallery and Camera apps look like.
So, we can see that colors play a big part of MIUI 6, and many apps
appear to have white or grey accents, colored in red, orange and a
spectrum of other colors, which makes Xiaomi’s latest software
version seem very similar to Apple’s iOS operating system. If the above
screenshots and details weren’t enough, have a look at the video from
below, which is one of the first reviews. Leave your comment below and
